during madam c j walker time period,in her early years when she was a child the birth of the ku klux klan had jus started. slavery had also eneded.
it was also the era in which the great derpression was happenning.
the U.S had also eneterd the worldwarI in in 1917.

"THE BLACK ROSE" is one of the many books on madam c j walker, this book is mainly from a second person perspective.
it starts from the beginning eplaining her trails and tribulations to becoming the first self made black african american millionare.
i haven't finished but so far the fisrt part is about her moving to delta,in lousiana and all her encounters with her new neighbors.

this is a picture of madam c j walker theatre. this project was completed by her daughter A’Lelia Walker. the building first opend in dec. 1927. DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS is where the theatre is located.

Even though there were hair products out already,niether of them worked well in the growth of hair for african american females., i think that madam c j walker was a great individual in history and she acomplished a lot as a african american women in the 1900's became the first african american female millionaire,she left behind a theatre built called the walker theatre. with out the extra help madam c j walker has put in in her years african american hair products wouldnt work as well.

topic selection

i choose madam c j walker for my NHD Project because I am interested in the many great things she accomplished in her time period.This person is important to history because without their efforts,there probably wouldnt have been any hair care products for black women today.For this week's research, I found an article at the official site of madam c j walker. I will read and summarize it for next week.
